Coming out I realized how incredibly invigorating it was to swim in Green Lake. The feeling reminded me of the healing waters of Waikanaloa Cave on the North Shore of Kauai. There is not enough rain to keep the lake at its usual level, and the surrounding land is not known for springs, so it is probably fed by underground lava tubes carrying water from the upper slopes of Kilauea.
