| Kazumura Cave was discovered only recently. It is, with its connections to previously known caves, the longest lava tube in the world (40 miles/60 km) and the deepest cave of any kind in the USA at 3,614 feet/1,102 meters. The main entrance is located in a fern forest on private property east of Kilauea Crater and visits of two hours to several days - depending on your interest and skill - are by appointment only.
