On the southern shore of Maui past Kihei and Wailea, in the area of Makena Beach State Park, is a headland called Nahuna Point. Right on top of the headland is a volcanic cone called Pu'u Olai. On the north side of the point is Oneuli, Black Sand Beach, and on the southern side is Oneloa, Big Beach. The point is a strong place of power that influences a large area around it.
The site is reached by heading for Kihei and taking Pilani Drive to its end and turning right on Wailea Ike Drive, then left on Wailea Alanui Drive which turns into Makena Alanui and continuing on until you see signs for Makena Beach State Park on the right.
